Sayonara sandals

As fans of cooler weather, the only thing we really miss as summer changes into fall, and eventually snowy winter, is our sandal-clad feet.

Creative Recreation may be changing that.

The shoe company (shopcreativerec.com) offers men's and women's shoes in styles that are sure to make you stand out at school.

There's hightop and lowtop versions of most styles, and each comes in a variety of eye-catching colors and fabrics. They range in price from around $80 to $110.

Peanuts people

Have you always thought your friend looked a little too much like Charlie Brown; or maybe your blanket-toting little brother is Linus' doppelganger? Well, you might as well benefit from this cartoon character look-a-like connection.

To honor its 60th anniversary in 2010, Peanuts is holding a photo look-a-like competition. From now until Nov. 3, go onto www.peanutsphotocontest.com and get your parents' help to submit pictures of those around you who resemble any Peanuts character.

A celebrity judging panel, which includes Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Jill Schulz, daughter of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, and fashion photographer Nigel Barker will choose finalists on Nov. 11. Then the public can vote on their favorites until Nov. 30. The grand prize winner will be announced in December.
