Iowa pork queen, ambassador will be selected at Congress Tuesday, January 17, 2006
DES MOINES -- The Iowa Pork Queen and the first-ever Iowa Premier Pork Youth Ambassador will be chosen at Iowa Pork Congress.
The queen and ambassador will represent Iowa's pork producers throughout 2006.
Pork Queen candidates are Chelsea Swanson, daughter of Jamie and Lisa Swanson of Marne in Cass County; Molly Zittergruen, daughter of Richard and Darla Zittergruen of Garber in Clayton County; Amber Appleton, daughter of Nancy Appleton of Greeley in Delaware County; Whitney Glade, daughter of Tom and Janet Glade of Guthrie Center in Guthrie County; Samantha Groves daughter of George and Galene Groves of Kamrar in Hamilton County; Betsy Halvorsen, daughter of Douglas and Ruth Halvorsen of New Providence in Hardin County; Stephanie Beran, daughter of Ruth Beran and the late Bill Beran of Victor in Iowa County; Hillary Renaud, daughter of Stan and Ruth Renaud of Pella in Marion County; Marla Claussen, daughter of Dale and Kathy Claussen of Bettendorf in Scott County; and Jenna Schroder, daughter of Dale and Connie Schroder of Avoca in Shelby County. Other queen candidates include Staci Sieren, daughter of Scott and Renee Sieren of Keota in Washington County; and Amanda Pliner, daughter of Kent and Doreen Pliner of Otho in Webster County.
Iowa Premier Pork Youth Ambassador contestants are: Samantha Morine, daughter of Eric and Laura Morine of Lamont in Buchanan County; Kathleen Tapper, daughter of Scott and Lisa Tapper of Webster City in Hamilton County; and Austin Heim, son of Jay and Sharon Heim of Logan in Harrison County.
Other candidates include Eric Kropf, son of Ron and Sandy Kropf of Graettinger in Palo Alto County; and Melissa Reed, daughter of Randy and Penny Reed of Ottumwa in Wapello County. |
